You are welcome to the Tutbury Band website. The site includes an introduction to the band with information about concerts through the year, our tours, our history and our ethos. It would be fantastic if you will follow us and contribute your views and thoughts about what we do.
If you are interested in joing the band then this is the place to come to. All you need to do is go to the visible part of the membership page and click on our application form. Then fill in the relevant information and send it to us for a response.
The band is a wind band, based in the beautiful East Staffordshire village of Tutbury near Burton on Trent. Formed in 1980, The Tutbury Band is one of the largest community bands in the UK. Our combined membership of between a 100 and 130 musicians across Tutbury Band and Tutbury Discovery Band.
Where we play
The Tutbury Band, performs at a variety of events including: summer shows, festivals, fetes, fund-raisers and more formal concerts. Places we have played range from Burton Town Hall to Strathpeffer Pavillion in the Highlands of Scotland and the Carrickmacross Twins festival in Ireland! We have toured in Belgium including Ypres and played at the Menin Gate. The link here in blue provides information about the Menin Gate. We are proud to have been featured on BBC, ITV and Sky television programmes.
Christmas Concert
The pictures above will remain up on this platform for a little while to recognise a great Christmas Concert with a great audience. We were very proud to play our part in showing support for Ukraine. We played The Ukrainian Bell Carol and hosted some Ukrainian gymnasts and dancers up on the stage. The performers were excellent and it was a pleasure to play for them.
Also due a mention is the group Clarismatic who played for the audience during the break – Thank you to the work the group put in behaind the scenes to prepare and for the excellent job they did when playing.
Music and availability
The band is available for bookings. If you would like us to add a lively mix of a variety of music to your event please contact us. We play a wide variety of well-known (mostly) pieces such as Music from the Shows, from Films, Pop and Classical Adaptations.
The Band plays for the enjoyment of it’s audiences and for the enjoyment of the members of the band. Adding the joy of live music to all our lives is a real driving force behind what we do. We’d love you to join us and support us whenever you can. We promise you that whenever we play, you will feel the joy we have in what we do. We have fun playing and we must be one of the most friendly and welcoming bands in the country.
